When Jim Wilkerson founded Interstate in 1982, his intention was to establish a standard of excellence in meeting the needs of the independent agents he called “friends.” Thirty-plus years of experience in the insurance industry, having served in practically every imaginable capacity, provided him with clarity in defining just what that entails. Many of our long-time agents still remember his personal touch, enlivened with his particular warmth and wit, and always directed toward providing unsurpassed service.
